A teenage boy who was transported from the Airdrie Rodeo Grounds to the Alberta Children's Hospital (ACH) in Calgary by STARS Saturday night (June 30) is now out of hospital.

The boy received what STARS Communications Officer Mark Oddan called "traumatic injuries" when the steer he was riding trampled him during the rodeo performance.

STARS was dispatched at around 9:30 pm and the boy was flown by the air ambulance to the ACH, arriving at 10:15 pm.

He has since been released from the hospital and is said to be recovering.
