The Airdrie Rural RCMP, the community of Delacour and all of southern Alberta have heavy hearts today.

Airdrie Rural RCMP have announced that the three year old boy who was located in a pool in Delacour last Thursday has sadly passed away.

At around 6:30 pm last Thursday, June 1st, Airdrie Rural RCMP responded to a 911 call saying that the boy had been located unconcious in an above ground pool.  He was found by a family member who pulled him out of the water, sought assistance and called 911.

The boy was transported to the Alberta Children's Hospital in critical condition.  Earlier today, he succumbed to his injuries and died with his family at his side.

Airdrie RCMP Detachment Commander Sergeant Kimberley Pasloske says, "Our hearts go out to the family and entire community at this time of need."

The Airdrie Rural RCMP has conducted a thorough investigation into the incident and say there is no indication of any foul play or criminal responsibility, and call it a tragic accident.
