52 years ago today (February 15th), the maple leaf flew high for the first time.

On February 15th, 1965 the maple leaf officially replaced the Red Ensign as the national flag of Canada.

Communities across the country will mark the occasion and here in Airdrie the flag will continue to fly at all schools, City Hall, The Airdrie Legion and in some backyards.
