Some Fireside residents were startled Friday morning after hearing of two grizzly bears roaming the area.

As of 4:00 p.m. on June 17, Fish and Wildlife officers were still in the area and have set two live traps.

Officers hope to relocate the bears to a safer area once they are captured.

Authorities remind residents that bears are clever, curious and live to eat.

Bears are in a constant search for new food sources and once they have discovered a new food source, it is extremely difficult to keep them from returning to it.

Everything from garbage to pet food can act as a food source for a hungry bear.

According to Fish and Wildlife the bears were last seen around 11:25 this morning.
