Airdrie's Muslim community watched in horror with the rest of Canada after the tragic shooting at a Quebec City mosque.

Waqar Butt, who helps organize the Friday Muslim Prayer in Airdrie said that what happened in Quebec is not a good image for the Islamic faith.

"In our religion, some people are really bad, some people are really good. We have to follow good faith."

Butt also commented on President Donald Trump's recent executive order to restrict travel from some Muslim countries, saying it hurts devout Muslims.

When all is said and done, Butt said the Muslim community lives like everyone else in Airdrie.

"We come for 10-15 minutes, we finish our prayer, we go back to our work, our business our jobs."
