The Peavey Mart brand has been around since 1968 and is a Western Canada success story and now it's in Airdrie.

The retail giant already opened its doors earlier in the spring at the site of the old Totem and Rona building on Main Street near Yankee Valley Blvd.

Now, the store is ready to finally throw its grand opening celebrations June 11-13.

The store carries products for almost everything including automotive, homestead, planting, gardening and even live chickens and bees.

Like most stores, the demand for supplies has made it hard to get many items on store shelves but some of those hard to get items are in Airdrie said Jest Sidloski, Vice President of Marketing for the company.

"We have things like kayaks, canoes. We have Coleman go-carts. We have little UTVs, little ATVs for children. We have a new line of camping gear in so we have Yeti products, Coleman products. We have everything you need really to enjoy your summer."

He goes on to say they also have patio furniture and camping chairs in stock, which are hot items this year.

"Because of COVID, we had to reduce the type of event that it was, so there's no coffee, donuts, no petting zoo, no Gord Bamford concert in the parking lot. We have to do what's right and we can't bring massive crowds to the store"

Even though they have to reduce the event a bit, they are making up for it with killer prizes you can win.

"If you go to the store Friday, Saturday, Sunday, that's June 11 through 13 you can get a pin in the store, you can get that on the bottom of your receipt. There's signage in the store where the pin is, or if you make a shopping trip online for Airdrie, you will get that pin as well."

Up for grabs are a $9,000 side by side UTV, a Coleman go-kart for the kids, a Traeger grill and you can win thousands of dollars of DeWalt products and there is no purchase necessary.

The flyer is already out and available online to see what deals will be going on for the event as well. 

Sidloski said they are excited to open in Airdrie.

"The brand reputation Peavey Mart has and the attachment to local communities is really important."

If you are planning to head to the store to check out the Grand opening this weekend, COVID protocols are in place meaning masks are mandatory and there's a limit on people allowed in-store.

The deals and chances to win the prizes are also available online.
