Genesis Place has responded after a complaint was lodged on November 29.

Genesis Place manager Greg Lockhart said that the pools were checked after the complaint was received, and they were within the usual chlorine levels.

"We did a test shortly after the patron had left the facility," said Lockhart, "And we were at our normal operating standards for chlorine levels at that time."

Lockhart explained that the pools are tested regularly and rigorously as per Alberta Health Services.

"We are required to do numerous tests. We do four tests a day on water samples, as well as we are required to send in one sample a week to Alberta Health, which is further tested through their labs."

Lockhart maintained that patron safety is their number one priority, and that Genesis Place only received one complaint on the day in question.
