Gas prices in Airdrie fell overnight and are sitting at 96.9 cents per litre today (July 17), matching the provincial average.

According to Dan McTeague, senior petroleum analyst at GasBuddy, signs point to steady prices throughout the rest of the summer.

"A small rally in petroleum prices last week was no match for a rising Loonie which helped keep pump prices at bay...The recent rise in the value of the Canadian dollar may be a sign that gas prices could continue to remain in the lower ranges for the summer and the week ahead proves it."

According to historical data from GasBuddy, prices on July 17 have ranged wildly over the past five years, from as low as 94.3 in 2016 to as high as 119.2 in 2014.
