Residents of Airdrie may face problem windrows over the next few days due to snowfall.

Windows are caused when parked vehicles restrict room for snow removal crews.  The snow removal truck will plow the road causing the snow to be pushed aside towards the curb ultimately blocking vehicles.  Mike Avramenko, Team Lead for the City's road department says crews do everything in their power not to create windrows, however sometimes its inevitable.

"Whenever we do a removal, we place the signs the day before and if the cars move its great but if they don't then we can't do anything about it and windrows are created."

The city rarely plows residential streets due to them being on a lower priority scale than roads like Yankee Valley, Main Street or Veterans Boulevard. However, residences on priority two areas may see windrows due to the crews removing snow to the bare pavement.

Avramenko says if residents obey the snow removal signs, there will be no risk of windrows.
