Didsbury RCMP executed a search warrant and laid a number of charges following an investigation into two assaults.

A series of events started on March 14th when a man was walking by himself was randomly attacked from behind and hit in the head multiple times with an object.

The investigation by Didsbury RCMP and Calgary RCMP suggested that the assault was a case of mistaken identity that the victim of the attack was not the intended target.

Only two days later the intended victim was found and knocked unconscious outside a local business. Both the victims weren't hospitalized and walked away with minor injuries.

Police discovered that both incidents were committed by the same individuals.  RCMP also alleges that there was a plot to kill the intended victim over a child custody dispute.

RCMP later received a search warrant for a home in mountain view county, police found a firearm, stolen property and drugs at the residence.
