A former employee of the Rocky View School Division (RVS)  will appear in an Airdrie court in January after being charged with theft and fraud in relation to the theft of computers from the school division.

In October of 2017, a complaint was made to Airdrie RCMP by RVS regarding the theft of numerous Apple products belonging to the school jurisdiction.

Based on an independent forensic audit undertaken by RVS, the investigation revealed that an employee of the school jurisdiction was taking Apple computers and selling them to third parties for his own personal gains.  This resulted in over $150,000 in losses to the division.

48-year-old Andrew Hendrycks of Airdrie has been charged with theft over $5,000 and fraud over $5,000.

Hendrycks is to appear in Airdrie Provincial Court on January 17th, 2019.

Hendrycks no longer works for Rocky View Schools.
