Shortly after 9:30a.m. on Tuesday, August 30, Highway 9 at Township Road 270 was shut down in both directions after a multi-vehicle collision.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded with three ambulances from Airdrie to the scene where a sedan, large cube van, and semi-truck collided.

When EMS arrived, the two male occupants in the sedan, believed to be in their 30's, were both pronounced dead and no resuscitation was attempted. 

A male occupant in the cube van, believed to be in his 20's, sustained minor injuries and was transported in stable, non life-threatening condition to the Foothills Medical Centre.

The second male occupant from the cube van and the semi-truck driver were both assessed and released without injury.

The cause of the collision is unknown at this time.
