Cybertip.ca is a tipline for those who have been affected by online child exploitation.

By working directly with the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT), Cybertip helps keep kids safe online.

"As they get older, they're more independent online, the likelihood of mistakes occurring are there, it's very real," said Signy Arnason, Director of Cybertip, "You do have this very unique population that are going to attempt to exploit all of those vulnerabilities that exists with children."

Cybertip receives an average of more than 3,300 reports each month, which has resulted in about 514 arrests.

ALERT often relies on information provided by Cybertip when they conduct investigations into child related crimes.

"What we are saying is the reports matter, and we need the general public coming forward when they have these types of concerns." said Arnason.
