Talk about working together.

The Didsbury RCMP got an anonymous tip from the public and then called in fire, EMS and two other RCMP departments to assist them in busting a psilocybin growing operation recently.

On April 17th, Didsbury RCMP began an investigation after receiving the anonymous tip and obtained a search warrant for a residence located near Bergthal in Mountain View County.

On April 23rd, the RCMP called in a bunch of support to help them execute the warrant.  Joined by the Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit, which is headquartered in Airdrie, the RCMP Clandestine Lab Enforcement and Response Team, the Didsbury Fire Department, and Didsbury EMS, the teams began to search the residence.

They located drug paraphernalia and the drugs it was used for.  About 80 bags of psilocybin, better known to most people as magic mushrooms, at various stages of growth were seized.

Two men from Calgary, a 27-year-old and a 29-year-old were taken into custody but have since been released.  They're scheduled to appear August 17th, 2020 in Didsbury court to face drug-related charges.

Anyone having information about this crime is being asked to get in touch with the Didsbury RCMP at 403 335-3382.  They also wish to thank the anonymous tipster for providing information that led to a successful investigation.
