The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) submitted a 72-hour strike notice to Canada Post on Thursday, August 25th.

If an agreement is not met, then the CUPW will be in a legal position to proceed with a strike as of Monday, August 29th.

Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour MaryAnn Mihychuk has appointed a mediator, in hopes that a neutral third part will help resolve the situation.

"Canada Post remains committed to reaching agreements that are fair to our employees, and allow us to continue to provide affordable pricing and service to Canadians." said Canada Post via their website.

It is not clear if mail and parcel deliveries will be disrupted if work is stopped.
