Airdrie may have some changes in the works with a new survey that the city has created.

Airdronians are having the opportunity to voice their opinion about how improvements can be made to Airdrie's current arts and culture representation, as well as new ideas they want to see around the city.

The survey asks a variety of questions, and only takes about fifteen minutes to complete.

Deanna Hunter, from Creative Airdrie, says that even though Airdrie's art scene has made significant progress in the last several years, she still wants to see it evolve even more in the future.

Hunter also belives that financial support for the not for profit's in Airdrie who are the foundation of the art and culture scene would be extremely beneficial.

According to Michael McAllister, from Airdrie's Community Development Department, while the city doesn't currently have a plan in place for the expansion of the arts and culture in Airdrie, he says that's why they wanted to create the survey.

"We want to better understand the needs of what people are looking for in their communities for arts, culture, and heritage."

McAllister says even though the survey just started up, they know the survey has had great participation so far, as they've had at least 250 already completed.
