The suspects arrested on July 27, in connection to the multi-jurisdictional crime spree had their first appearance in Airdrie Court on Thursday, August 4.

18-year-old Michaila Mitchell and 20-year-old William Riley Gossen appeared via CCTV, requesting an extension to obtain legal aid.

Both suspects are facing 17 charges, including robbery with a restricted or prohibited firearm.

Gossen and Mitchell were granted their request and will appear again on August 11 via CCTV for their bail hearing.

In addition to the new court date, Crown Council put in a request that would prevent either suspect from any contact prior to the trial.

Once bail has been set, Crown will move to have the trial relocated to the Calgary Provincial Court.
