After a fire in the elevator room closed down their main building, Community Links had to scramble to try and continue programming offsite. Now, they have returned to once again open their doors to the people of Airdrie.

Barb Gross, Family Resource Services Manager, says they are very thankful to the community for their support.

"The staff are very happy to be back and be able to work in our own space. We're very grateful to the many organizations who took us in and were so warm and kind to us. It was because of this generousity that we were able to continue offering programs during the closure. We're very grateful to the community for their continued support and encouragement during this time and we wanted to say thank you to everybody."

Now that the staff is able to return to the building, Gross says that everything should return to normal.

"Everything is back to normal. We're excited to be home and it's been a real growing experience for all of us. I think it's been good."

Programming and counselling will be returning back to normal.

Gross says that the building is guaranteed to be safe now for staff and visitors.

"I trust that the process had to be the way it was and we've been given assurances that the building is now safe for the staff as well as our families that are coming and our individuals that are coming in from the community. That was paramount. We wanted to make sure people were safe."
