Less than one week into spring and already we have seen positive temperatures, negative temperatures, snow, heavy fog, and rain leaving many of us scratching our heads wondering what's in store for us this spring.

John-Paul Cragg from Environment Canada says this spring will be colder than normal and bring us a variety of temperatures and precipitation amounts.

"For the rest of spring we are forecasting colder than average temperatures and wetter than average conditions and that is something that will come in full force, beginning around the first of April."

According to models used by Environment Canada, the projections show precipitation coming in variations of snow and rain throughout April.

"After the end of March, models are showing a very strong signal for a cool down, at that point with temperatures dipping well below the freezing mark.  There is the chance of the precipitation coming in the form of snow."

Over the last few days, we have had snow come to us due to a low-pressure system that accumulated in the northwest regions of Canada and began to make its way down and through the prairies.

We're expecting another low-pressure system to bring flurries and a little burst of cold temperature over the weekend, however, the amount of precipitation accompanying the system is nothing compared to the system that hit us on Friday.
