If you were hoping for warmer temperatures this week you're not in luck.

According to Sarah Hoffman, Meteorologist with Environment Canada we are expecting freezing temperatures all week.

"So are expecting temperatures with overnight wind chills stay around the -40 mark until Thursday morning."

Even with the cold temperatures, we may fluctuate in and out of the Extreme Cold Warning throughout the week.

"Temperatures will be very close to the -40 range however we may not exactly hit that mark so the Extreme Cold Warning may be cancelled however the temperatures are expected to stay around the -30 mark which isn't the criteria for an Extreme Cold Warning, that's two consecutive hours of -40."

Hoffman also says that looking past a seven-day forecast can get a little fuzzy but a warm-up may come next week.

"The forecast gets a little messy the farther we look out but it does look like early next week is our best chance and reaching normal temperatures"
