Cochrane's newest K-8 School is almost ready to open its doors - three months sooner than expected.

Earlier in the year, Alberta Infastructure warned Rocky View Schools that RancheView School, would not be ready until January 2017.

RancheView students have been going to class in the building's completed east wing and Mitford School. This arrangement was expected to continue into the new year but the RancheView building was turned over earlier than expected, allowing students to move into their new school on October 12.

"This is great news for our jurisdiction and the families of RancheView School," says Associate Superintendent - Business and Operations, Darrell Couture, "Administration has moved quickly to ensure RancheView will be ready for students after Thanksgiving weekend, an early opening also will alleviate pressures placed on Mitford and allow us to relocate more portables off that site. It's a win-win for all."
