The donation numbers are in and they're incredible.

On Saturday evening, the Sirens Lip Sync Challenge held its Charity Hockey Game at the Ron Ebbesen Arena. Team Red, the Airdrie Fire Department and AHS EMS, faced Team Blue, Airdrie RCMP and MEs, in a riverting game on the ice. Game watchers were invited to cheer on their favourite teams and dropped off a toy donation in either Team Blue's bin or Team Red's.

These toys are being donated to the 2018 Airdrie Lioness Christmas Hamper Program, to support families in financial need this holiday season.

A total of 469 toys were donated at Saturday's game, valued at $6,159.

Proceeds from the 50/50 raffle totalled $1,125.

The Silent Auction brought in $930, making the grand total...

$8,214.

A massive pat on the back is well deserved for Airdrie after the successful event.

If you are interested in donating any food, toys, clothing, or cash to the Christmas Hamper Program, the Lioness Club is opening their depot at the Old Fire Hall on Main Street in Airdrie (across from Shoppers Drug Mart). Their hours are Tuesday to Friday 1-8pm and Saturday's 10 am-3 pm.
