Members of the RCMP's Southern Serious Crimes Branch are looking into a strange incident that took place on Sunday (May 28) north east of Airdrie.

Between 5:00 and 7:00 that evening, two men in an older model white GMC truck got lost in the rural area around Beiseker and Acme.

"During their time of driving around in the back country roads, they were chased from that location by men in their mid-twenties driving a red Chev truck," said Sgt. Jack Poitras.

The three men in the red truck rammed the white truck, attempting to force it off the road. As the chase continued, the occupants of the red truck began shooting at the white truck, hitting one of the men and resulting in serious injuries.

Eventually the red truck gave up the chase and the two men in the white truck made it back to Airdrie, where they reported the incident to the local RCMP. Poitras says Police are now looking for assistance with the case.

"Police are asking if anyone has any information about a red truck with damage or the shooting, to please come forward and talk to the RCMP to see if we can solve what exactly what took place there."

At this point, there's no information about what may have led to the chase and aggression. Police also don't have a lead on the suspects.
