Mail delivery will be halted for many Airdrie residents as the Canada Post strike has now hit Calgary.

Calgary joined Red Deer and Sherbrooke, Quebec this morning (October 25) as the latest cities to hit the unions rotating strikes.

As a result, mail delivery and pickup in the Calgary area will not take place for the foreseeable future.

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) began rotating strikes last Monday as they continue to negotiate a new contract.
