Excitment is building for the big Canada Day Parade tomorrow (July 1) to celebrate Canada 150, but it will mean road closures throughout the morning.

The parade will start at the intersection of Virginia Street and First Avenue, before turning left onto Main Street, and finishing with a stretch along Allen Street. The parade kicks off at 10:00am and will run until noon.

To accomodate the parade, Main Street will close at 9:00am and reopen half an hour after the final float has left Main Street, around 12:30pm.

The Urgent Care Centre will remain open throughout the parade with two access points, one at Allen Street and Main Street, and one at First Avenue and Main Street. Main Street's curb lane closest to the Urgent Care Centre will be blocked off between First Avenue and Allen Street to ensure access to Urgent Care. Residents are asked to keep that lane clear, and to not park in the Urgent Care Centre's Parking lot.
