This year's SLAM on AIR contest is offering local songwriters the chance to win big.

From July 1, 2016 to August 15, 2016, participants can submit a video of their song online, where they will be reviewed by a panel of music industry professionals.

"We are absolutely pumped for this year's verion of SLAM on Air, couldn't be happier with the way things are going so far." said Steve Gilliss, Membership Director with SLAM.

The judging panel will include Sean Kelly, Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal, Nick Catanese, and Donnie Frizzell.

All entries will be reviewed by the judging panel and the Top 6 picks will be invited to perform LIVE competing to win a prize package worth over $5,000.

"Not only is this a songwriting contest, it's an opportunity for people to get heard, to get noticed by industry peers, and help them build their own personal networks." said Gilliss.

Last year's contest was won by Christian Hudson, who has since found huge success since winning the contest last year along with the Calgary Stampede Talent Search.
