A Calgary man charged with uttering threats in a phone message against Canada's Minister of Public Safety was arrested in Airdrie.

On June 6th, the RCMP's "K" Division Integrated National Security Enforcment Team (K-INSET) in Calgary received information that threats had been made on a phone message against the Honurable Ralph Goodale, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness.

From the message, the RCMP were able to identify the caller.  Additional investigation enabled the police to locate the male suspect in Airdrie where he was taken into custody without incident on Thursday, June 8th.

48 year old Sebastien Taylor of Calgary was charged with one count of uttering threats and has been remanded in custody.  Taylor is scheduled to appear in Calgary Provincial Court tomorrow (June 12) at 9:00 am.

Police didn't say why Taylor was arrested in Airdrie or what connection he had to the city.

K-INSET and the Calgary Police Service worked collaboratively on the investigation.

Police say no further information will be made available as the case is now before the courts.
