Everything you need to know about disposing of your tree and tree paraphernalia.

Christmas has come and gone and it's time to get rid of your Tannenbaum, properly. Here are the DOs and DON'Ts of Christmas recycling.

  • Real Christmas trees will be accepted at the Recycle Depot from December 26 - January 31. Remember to remove ALL ornaments and decorations as well as tree bags. Fake Christmas trees cannot be recycled.
  • Ribbons, bows, tinsel, broken ornaments, or styrofoam cannot be recycled
  • Wrapping paper and cardboard boxes can be recycled, remove all tape
  • Electronics should be dropped off at the electronics area of the Recycle Depot
    • Christmas lights cord (bulbs removed)
    • batteries and any electronics
  • Clothing donations can be dropped off at donation bins at the Recycle Depot
  • Leftover food should be tossed in your green cart

The Recycle Depot is located at 21 East Lake Hill and is open most days from 9 am - 5 pm and is closed December 31.
