The Superintendent of Rocky View Schools presented details yesterday (May 3rd) on consultations for creating attendance areas in south-west Airdrie.

With the new school in Hillcrest slated to open in the fall of 2019, School Trustees need to determine which attendance areas will be created for that school and others nearby.

Superintendent Greg Luterbach (left) presented to the RVS Board on attendance areas for south-west Airdrie.

With Windsong Heights and Cooper’s Crossing expected to reach capacity by next year, some changes will need to be made to accommodate students at all these schools.

The communities affected by these changes will be Prairie Springs, Windsong, Southwinds, Cooper’s Crossing, Morningside, Hillcrest and the new communities of Southpoint and Chinook Gate.

Superintendent Greg Luterbach said that a letter will be going out to families in south-west Airdrie soon, giving details about an upcoming consultation.

That consultation is set for May 22nd at Windsong Heights School.

Rocky View Schools will collect feedback from that consultation and develop a proposal to present to the board by the end of June.
