Will the presents be here in time for Christmas? The federal government of Canada is reviewing Bill C-89 today that will if put into effect, legislate Canada Post employees back to work.

Negotiations between the Canada Post Corporation and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers have been taking place for almost a year, but on October 22 the union announced they would be taking part in strikes all across the country.

The strikes were meant to be kept under 24 hours in order to lessen the effect on customers.

However, despite the strikes and the offers, there has been no agreement and now the government of Canada is stepping in.

On Saturday, the bill was debated but the final decision was pushed to today. There will be a meeting at 12 where a final decision will be made.

If the bill is passed, hopefully, the strikes will end and the packages will arrive in time for Christmas.
