After months of investigation, with joined efforts between Airdrie and Calgary, four individuals were taken into custody on Friday, June 17.

Working together, the Airdrie Crime Reduction Unit, Airdrie RCMP, RCMP Police Dog Service, Calgary RCMP General Investigation Section, Calgary Police Service, Calgary Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT), and Calgary Police Service Tactical Unit obtained search warrants for a residence in Airdrie and Calgary.

Upon searching each residence, one located in Airdrie and the other in Calgary, Police seized over 200 grams of cocaine, an unknown amount of fentanyl and MDMA, Canadian currency, and assorted trafficking paraphernalia.

Cst. Curtis Peters said it took a couple of months to obtain the search warrants needed due to the size of the investigation.

"It's an extensive investigation process that goes into a file such as this. Obviously, you can tell by the number of agencies that took part, it's a fairly extensive investigation. It takes a lot of cooperation from Calgary Police and ALERT and General Investigation Section from here in Airdrie, but they work out of the Calgary Southern Alberta district. So they all worked together on this investigation that took place over the course of a couple of months."

28-year-old Karlee Kettner, of Airdrie, has been charged with five offences, which includes the possession of a controlled substance for trafficking purposes, possession of a controlled substance and trafficking.

34-year-old Wade Gunoff, also of Airdrie, who remains in custody, has been charges with 10 offences, including trafficking, possession of a controlled substance for trafficking purposes, possession of proceeds of crime and fail to comply with conditions of recognizance.

Andrew Knapp, a 31-year-old from Calgary, and Honour Toth, a 26-year-old from Calgary, have been charged with possession of a controlled substance for trafficking purposes and possession of a controlled substance.

All individuals will appear in Airdrie Provincial Court in the upcoming weeks.
