Power outages on Tuesday (January 9th) and Wednesday (January 10th) hit multpile areas in Airdrie.

According to Alana Antonelli, Communcation Manager with Fortis Alberta, the first outage was caused by frost collecing on the power pole, which caused electricity to burn the top of the pole. The cause of the second outage has yet to be confirmed however they may be connected. 

"We do suspect the two are related, sometimes if there is a fault in the system in can cause a issue somewhere down the line" 

The first outage on Monday occured at 1:00pm. 330 customers were left without power for roughly three hours. The second outage on Tuesday started at 9:00am and also lasted three hours. 

 The outage affected East Lake Industrial Park and the communities of Airdrie Meadows, The Village, Edge Water and Big Springs.
