It may not like that way with all the snow on the ground but seasonal allergies are about to come to your neighbourhood.

Local Pharmacist, Kester, explains when the time for allergies actually lasts.

The most common types of allergies for the spring and summer are grass, hay and pollen.

“Usually allergy season starts at the beginning of spring, now this year might be different but we will say from about the end of April, early May, down into August and September.”

Kester says that the most common allergies they see during this time are pollen, grass and hay.

Aside from taking basic medications to help deal with the allergies, Kester says you may need to limit your exposure.

“Of course, there’s trying to avoid pollens and all that, which is kind of impossible, that would mean avoiding going out or doing anything outside. For people, I know they are allergic to certain things like grass, so avoiding certain grass is good.”

Kester says that one of the other great ways to help combat allergies for this season is to be tested to find out which specific allergies they have.
