B.C. has asked Alberta for help in dealing with it's massive wildfire problem.

About 100 Alberta fire personnel will be heading to B.C. which has declared a State of Emergency because of the fires which have been caused by high heat and tinder dry conditions.

More than 180 fires were burning across the province on Saturday morning according to the B.C. Wildfire Service.

Wildfire Information Officer for Alberta Agriculture and Forestry Melinda Paplawski said they received the request to support B.C. on Saturday morning then spent the rest of the day coordinating resources.

Paplawski says they're sending about 60 firefighters as well as 35 other fire personnel who'll fill various roles.  Alberta is also sending an air tanker and pilot to B.C.

The group will arrive in Kamloops on Monday and will then be distributed around the province.  They're expected to stay in the province for about two or three weeks after which the province will evaluate whether they need to send a second group of personnel.

When the destructive Fort McMurray fire burned last year, B.C. sent firefighters in to help with the blaze.
