November is upon us but this year's harvest is still ongoing.

Less than ideal weather conditions have slowed down harvest progress but with current temperatures above average, Airdrie and area producers are hoping to get a move on.

According to the most recent Crop Report, as of November 1 in Central Alberta, 30 per cent of crops were still left in the field, while 13 per cent of those crops were still standing.

At the same time last year, Alberta producers were done or almost finished harvest.

For the crops that have been harvested, provincially, the quality of most crops are coming in below the provincial five year average.

Farmers in the Airdrie area will continue working long hours to take advantage of the unseasonably warm temperatures and get their crops in before the snow hits.
