City Hall played host to The Square's open house on Tuesday, September 27th.

Residents came out to get some answers, with many concerned about the proposed redevelopment.

"There is going to be a lot of people changing their locations to be in the downtown Airdrie core within this complex, however, that will open up vacancies in other parts of Airdrie, so you're really not gaining anything at all." said Ken Mains, Airdrie resident.

Up to this point, all information has been kept on the down low, which has many frustrated.

The cost is projected at $83 million, and would see Airdrie's main street completely transformed.

"How are we really going to recoup the cost of this project over a fixed period of time." said Mains.

City council assures residents that there will be many more public information sessions before any further decisions are made.
