The City of Airdrie wants your feedback on the subject of ride sharing regulations.

Residents will have the opportunity to provide their opinions during open house sessions held on September 6th and September 8th.

"Currently our bylaw doesn't have anything to encompass ride sharing, so like every municipality we thought 'we better get on this', so that's how this came about." said Colleen Kinley, Chief Licencing Inspector for the City of Airdrie.

The talks will aim to provide feedback which will guide city officials as they make amendments.

Various members of Airdrie's taxi committee have joined the conversation, and have voiced mixed results.

"Our bylaw hopefully will be fair to both the taxi industry and businesses like Uber." said Kinley.

Both open houses will be informal in nature, placing resident input as a main concern.

The open house sessions run from 9-11am on September 6th and 6-8pm on the 8th at the Rotary Room in Genesis Place.
