Airdrie resident Tammy Noel was the lucky winner of this years Calgary Stampede Split'em 50 Jackpot.

Noel has had the lucky ticket for months, getting in on the early bird sale which won her just over $739,642.50.

"We always buy the early bird tickets, so we buy like right as the email comes out within the first two weeks. We always get our packages and then this year they offered the extra 50/50 so we decided to tag it on."

Noel wants to use the money to give her family financial stability but her son thought the money could be used for a nerf gun.

"You know before you have the money you have lots of plans and then once you get it you're not sure. It's just making sure that our family is financially secure and we don't have to worry about any money problems in the future."

Noel received her winnings along with all the other lottery winners from the Stampede lottery at the Stampede headquarters on Tuesday (July 26) afternoon.

With giant cheque in hand, Noel knows one thing for sure, she wont be leaving Airdrie.

"The street that we live on is so amazing. We have made so many good friends and we have so many close people that are just within walking distance that you know what, we just couldn't imagine leaving our street, let alone Airdrie."
