The RCMP in Airdrie are looking for help from the public after a locksmith van was stolen and some of its contents taken earlier this week.

On Monday night (February 27) an employee of ABOE Locksmith parked at the Mackenzie Way apartment complex at 304 Mackenzie Way SW in Airdrie. The van was stolen from the parking lot sometime overnight. It was taken south of the city to Township Road 264, between 24th Street and Range Road 13, where it was recovered the next morning.

When police found it, they discovered that equipment used to create keys had been taken. Later, they discovered that documents containing security information for some Calgary Housing Company (CHC) buildings were also missing.

The RCMP are working with CHC and the Calgary Police Service to investigate the crime and ensure the safety of CHC tenants.
