Airdrie RCMP is currently investigating an attempted jewelry store robbery that took place during the early morning yesterday (August 28) at the Goldworks Sales & Services Inc on Main Street.

Around 10:10 am, A lone male approached the front doors of the store, pulled on the doors slightly and then walked away. A few moments later, the same male returned to the store wearing a black mask over his face. He then entered the store holding a weapon. Store staff noticed immediately and sounded the alarm. After hearing the alarm the man fled on foot. 

Airdrie RCMP with the help of RCMP Police Dog Services attempted to locate the suspect but could not find him. 

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male in his mid to late 40's, approximately 5'10" with a medium build. He had shaggy brown hair and a handlebar mustache. He was also wearing a black Calgary Stampeders ball cap, maroon or red button-up, collared shirt, and blue jeans.
