The Airdrie Public Library is enduring some growing pains.

Thanks to Airdrie's growth, all of the library's programs are running at capacity.

"We're dealing both with the population growth and also an increase in our library service that is larger than the population growth," said Pam Medland, Director of the Airdrie Public Library.

A new library was included in the proposed Airdrie Main Street Square development, which has been put on hold for more public input.

Certain steps have been taken to help deal with the concerns, including the relocation of certain programs outdoors for more space, as well as pick up lockers at Genesis Place.

"Keep using us, and keep letting your [City Council] know that you use the library and appreciate the library," said Medland.
