Airdrie RCMP have issued an update on the closure of the Airdrie Municipal Policing Building.

The building was closed to the public after a water main break was discovered on New Year's Day. Now, police say the building will remain closed until at least January 8.

Day to day operations for the RCMP and Municipal Enforcement will continue as usual. Residents are encouraged to call 911 for emergencies, and RCMP's non-emergency and administrative lines for other matters.

While repairs are done, a Temporary Community Station will be set up at City Hall for RCMP and bylaw complaints, criminal record checks and motor vehicle collision reports. The Temporary Community Station will be open today (January 3) from 10:00am to 4:00pm, and on Thursday and Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm.

Airdrie RCMP will give an update on Friday regarding the progress of the repairs.
