While the temperature in Airdrie is going to be perfect for heat lovers for the next three days or so, Vance Morrow is dreaming of something a bit more permanent.
Now that he's won $1 million, that dream may become a reality for the Airdrie man. Morrow won his million on the June 3rd Lotto 6/49 draw.
"We were looking to buy a little place in Panama not too long ago. I always hoped that I would be able to move to somewhere a lot warmer one day. I feel like this might be the sign to buy and start that process."
Morrow bought his winning ticket from the 7-Eleven store at 213-800 Yankee Valley Blvd. SW and checked it a couple of days later, after dinner.
"I just finished eating and I thought I should really check the tickets I had in my wallet," said Morrow. "I scanned this ticket first and I couldn't believe it. I took the ticket to the clerk to scan again. I was ecstatic."
Now that he's a million dollars richer, Morrow is considering the future. "I'm going to find a place to retire to down south. The rest I'm going to invest so I can retire at 45 and move to Panama permanently."
