The City of Airdrie and the Alberta RCMP have announced the appointment of a new detachment commander and she's coming from close by.

Sergeant Kimberley Pasloske will take on the role of Commander of the Airdrie RCMP detachment on May 23rd.  Pasloske is originally from Carstairs and is currently Commander of the Didsbury RCMP.

Pasloske says, "I'm so pleased that my recent career moves have brought me closer to home: first Didsbury and now Airdrie.  I'm a small town girl at heart and those values have guided me in policing over the years."

Pasloske brings 20 years of experience in police work to her new role, starting in Port Alberni, B.C.  She also spent time in Fort McMurray.  Pasloske has a unique blend of General Duty detachment command, General Investigation Section and Major Crimes Unit experience, including homicide.

Airdrie Mayor Peter Brown says he's looking forward to working with Sergeant Pasloske as the city continues it's excellent relationship with the RCMP.  "Community policing takes dedication and understanding as each community has a unique set of challenges and opportunities," says Brown.  "I am confident that Sergeant Pasloske's previous experience in various sized communities will be of great benefit to our residents."

With the position of Commander, Pasloske receives a promotion to Inspector that takes effect in mid June.
