Yesterday (March 21), the NDP Government released preliminary details on two new schools coming to Airdrie in the near future.

Both Rocky View and the Calgary Catholic School Boards will receive a new school in the City and are among 26 projects for new, replacement or modernized schools across the province.

The Rocky View school will be located in Hillcrest, while the location of the Catholic school hasn't been announced.

The details come on the heels of Finance Minister Joe Ceci's budget announcement on March 16th, which hinted that Airdrie would be getting at least one new school.

Both RVS and CCSD are currently exhausted with utilization rates of their schools in Airdrie, which are at or approaching 100 per cent.
