During an event yesterday (February 1), the Airdrie Chamber of Commerce and the Calgary Flames announced that for the Airdrie Family Night, every ticket bought at calgaryflames.com/airdrie for March 29th's home game against the Anaheim Ducks will be discounted and will provide $5 towards Airdrie's local charities.

Miemma Portsmouth, a group sales account executive with the Calgary Flames gives a rundown on what exactly is happening.

"This event, we're having a special game March 29th, our second-to-last home game with the Calgary Flames (when) we'll be playing the Ducks on a Friday night. In this initiative, we have a special link and wanted to bring Airdrie out as a community. We know we have Flames supporters out here, (and we want to) make a day for families to come out and through the link, you can buy (tickets). At calgaryflames.com/Airdrie, you will get discounted tickets as well so families will be saving money when they bring a family of four or five out as that can get a little crazy (...). We just wanted to have a special night supporting Community Links and Airdrie Food Bank as local charities to help give back and grow the relationship between the Flames and Airdrie"

Portsmouth describes what charities will receive support.

"Community Links and (the) Airdrie Food Bank are working together so five dollars from every ticket purchased through this specific link will go back to those charities and they're going to split it evenly."
