Around 12:30 A.M this morning (January 28th) Airdrie Fire crews responded to a call of residential fire located on Kingsland Place SE.

Fire crews arrived on scene to find heavy smoke on the main floor of the two-level residential home.

The residents of the home heard their fire alarms go off and were able to safely evacuate the home and waited outside for fire crews to arrive.

The fire was located in the kitchen and had melted a domestic water line which assisted in keeping the fire under control. Firefighters extinguished what remained of the fire before isolating water line.

Once the fire was under control, crews proceeded to check adjacent walls and ceilings and check the air quality for carbon monoxide levels.

The cause of the fire is still currently under investigation by the Fire Prevention Bureau. No one was injured in the incident.
