The Airdrie Chamber of Commerce is looking forward to hosting the upcoming Airdrie Business Awards.

For the past 21 years, the Airdrie Business Awards have honoured local companies.

This is the second year the Airdrie Chamber of Commerce has hosted the event and Executive Director Marilyne Aalhus says it's a great fit.

"We love celebrating business, so the Airdrie Business Awards are so awesome," she says. "It's just a beautiful evening of celebration. Those familiar faces of coming and celebrating what business offers our community, and of course celebrating their success and the hard work that they put in to making Airdrie what it is today."

Aalhus says the gala is a great opportunity for local businesses to network.

"Not just to talk about business leads and maybe working together on partnerships, but also to talk about challenges that you may be facing so that you can work together. Maybe find a mentor. I have a mentor," Aalhus says. "I love to be able to work with people that have been through the same struggles or maybe the same accomplishments and just to have that opportunity to share that together."

Coming together for the Airdrie Business Awards also creates a sense of community and camaraderie, says Aalhus.

"I think it's so important that businesses support one another. Obviously when you're struggling, you're not alone. There are many other businesses that are going through the same challenges and to be able to have those conversations and work together to build each other up is so important," says Aalhus.

This year's awards take place on Thursday, October 24 at Bert Church Theatre. Tickets are available through the Chamber's website.
