Yesterday's (June 8) thunderstorm warning came to fruition just before 8 o'clock last night with winds gusting upwards of 93km per hour.

Some parts of the city, including Stonegate had over 20mm of rain fall within 15 minutes causing parts of the park to flood.

Airdrie was lucky and was able to avoid the severe hail that hit Cross Iron Mills Mall and parts of Calgary.

Although the storm warning has been lifted, Airdrie can expect more rain today with a small risk of a thunderstorm before the end of the day.
