You can stamp this one with the word "SUCCESS."  And yes, the capital letters are deserved!

Air 106.1's "Season of Giving" Radiothon in support of the Airdrie Lioness Club Adopt-A-Family Christmas Hamper program surpassed expectations yesterday (December 1).

The Lionesses set a goal for the day to raise $22,000 to help make families in Airdrie, who might be suffering through hard times, have a smile on their faces this Christmas.

The total raised for the day blew that figure away as $23,214.44 came in through the generosity of Airdronians.

As well, individuals and businesses donated a huge amount of food at our major sponsors, the two Save-On-Foods locations in Airdrie.

If you missed yesterday's event, you can still get in on the fun of giving.  Go to the Lioness Club website to find out how.

From Air 106.1, the Airdrie Lioness Club, Save-On-Foods and all our other sponsors, thank you for making the Season of Giving Radiothon such a resounding success!
